Alexander L. Greninger M.D., Ph.D., is the Larry Corey Endowed Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington Medical Center, Assistant Director of the Clinical Virology labs and Director of the Clinical Trials and Retrovirology Laboratory. He studied biology and international relations at Stanford University, with masters in immunology from Stanford and epidemiology from Cambridge University. He then did an M.D., Ph.D. in genomics and proteomics of picornaviruses at University California-San Francisco before completing residency in clinical pathology at the University of Washington. He has published more than 280 articles to date on a variety of aspects of pathogen biology and clinical testing. He is broadly interested in genomically informed approaches to infectious diseases and immunology.
