Barbara Robinson-Dunn, Ph.D., D(ABMM) completed her Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. and her fellowship in clinical microbiology at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital under the direction of Lawrence R. McCarthy.

She is the System Director of the Microbiology Laboratories for Beaumont Health, Royal Oak, Mich. and a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and the Infectious Disease Society of America. She has served on 10 ASM committees and chaired 3 of them, as well as serving as Chair of the Clinical Microbiology Division.

Additionally, Robinson-Dunn served on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology and as track leader of the Divisional Group I and the Clinical and Public Health Microbiology tracks for ASM. She has represented ASM on the Acute Bacterial Core surveillance (ABCs) Committee at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and was appointed to the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC) for a 4-year term.

Robinson-Dunn is a Professor of Pathology at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, as well as a faculty member at both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.
