Stanley Maloy

Stanley Maloy is a Professor of Microbiology and Associate Vice President for Innovation at San Diego State University. His team’s research is focused on evolution of infectious diseases, and development of antibiotics and vaccines. He has developed educational websites and software, hosted scientific podcasts and videos, organized international courses and conferences, and led both educational enrichment programs for incoming college students and STEM programs for K-12 teachers. He has received several teaching awards, and an Honorary PhD for contributions to higher education. In addition, he is passionate about scientific communication and informal learning. Stanley has served many roles in the ASM, including as President in FY 2005-2006, and is Editor-in-Chief of JMBE.
He is one of the distinguished Plenary Speakers for ASMCUE 2019.
