Nicholas Moore, Ph.D., D(ABMM), MLS(ASCP), is the Associate Director of the Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Infectious Diseases Laboratories at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He also serves as the director of the BSL-3 biocontainment laboratory. 

Moore completed his B.S. degree at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. Following his undergraduate studies, he completed his M.S. at Rush University and became a certified medical laboratory scientist. He also earned his Ph.D. from Rush University where he studied the epidemiology of blaKPC-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae and chlorhexidine gluconate resistance among patients in long-term care settings under the direction of Mary Hayden, M.D. 

His research focuses on the epidemiology of multiple drug-resistant organisms, leveraging new technology to improve the diagnostic process, and the use of advanced molecular diagnostics to inform infection control decision-making related to nosocomial outbreaks.
